Sacred Project

The four compositions of the project; Heart, Dance, Passion and Blood were intended for an EP release. Only Heart was released as a single in 1981 on the Blue September label, and is still played on radio now.
Heart, Dance, Passion and Blood have been remixed as original and Digitally Mastered, I have tried hard to keep the warm analogue sound and spirit. Interestingly both the single and album were not great pressings. there was bad distortion on the top end - cymbals etc. They now sound exactly as I intended.

The Lost Tapes

I have been asked by the curious about other tracks that were recorded before the time of "Sacred Project" and "Alluma”.
The three tracks:- “Why then in the morning” - “Listen” and “Time and the Rain”,
Were recorded in London early 1979, Kevin Kirby Played Bass, Mike Emms - Drums and Jeremy Kneble - keyboards.
Listen was released as a single in 1980/1 but was a different mix, the bass line was replaced and a piano added. I did not agree with this but …
This is the original mix. The tape was in a very bad condition, I retrieved it along with the 4 track tape of “Freedom” the mix of which is included in “The Lost Tapes”.
The lyrics of all of the tracks were written by David Convoy.
I dedicate “The Lost Tapes” to his memory - Be Free.

The lost tapes - Les bandes oubliées

Jade the Emperor Suite

The compositions on Jade the Emperor Suite are based upon ancient Chinese folk tales which perhaps, owe their roots to the deeds of the part-legendary Yellow Emperor, Huangdi. His wife Xilingshi (Leizu) discovered the making and weaving of silk, the trading of which opened the route known as the old silk road. Interestingly Huangdi is attributed for the invention of the gugin zither and other musical instruments for the composer Ling Lun, the accredited founder of music in ancient China.

Please Note that :-“Winged Horse of Persia” is an ethnic version of “Prance of the Goat Foot God” (“Alluma”).
I will leave it to you to decide which is the beauty and which the beast.

Alluma Revisited

Over the past few years I have been asked many times for the album "Alluma", a vinyl only limited release in 1983. Unfortunately the master tapes have been lost, they no longer exist. In essence, synths were used for the main melodic lines augmented with electric, acoustic guitars etc.
Having experimented with the instrumentation/arrangement of the compositions, to be faithful to the original concept and to further enhance it without using synths:-
I began to work on "Alluma revisited".
Interestingly "A Path of Sorrows" was the intended final track on the original album.  Ultimately it was not included simply because - the synths just did not have the depth of soul or expression for the composition - it did not work. "The Seers of Arcadia" was used as a footnote instead.
"Alluma revisited" is a completely new recording and arrangement, and with the inclusion of  "A Path of Sorrows"  is now "Alluma" as I intended it to be.

"Seers of Arcadia" fut choisi à la place.

Heart of Albion

A Musical observation on the City of London.
Originally composed for the C.O.I for a presentation/promotional film/video on London in 1993. The suite represents an orchestral side of me which may be a surprise!. All the tracks have been fully rearranged, recorded, produced and remastered for this album.

 Clan Reel & The Jacks

Both “Clan Reel” and “The Jacks” were used in the same promotional film/video on London By C.O.I as “Heart of Albion” I did not include them! not really City of London. But there here now!
